Drop-in care
Our program is designed to offer a safe, engaging, and fun environment for children when Chesterfield County Public Schools are closed.
Key features
The program runs on designated school closure days, providing kids with a variety of exciting, theme-based activities. Each day has a unique theme, such as Superhero Day, Science and Nature, Sports Extravaganza, or Arts and Crafts, giving children the chance to explore new interests, develop new skills, and have fun with their peers.
Themed days
Each drop-in day features a new theme, with tailored activities that keep children engaged and entertained. These activities may include arts and crafts, outdoor games, science experiments, group challenges, and much more.
Physical play
From sports to scavenger hunts and obstacle courses, children will stay active and engaged throughout the day, fostering a positive and healthy approach to play.
Educational activities
Our team of experienced staff ensures that each activity is not only fun but also helps develop key skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, creativity, and physical coordination.
Safe environment
Good Shepherd provides a secure and supportive environment where children feel at home. Our staff-to-child ratio ensures that each participant gets the attention they need while having fun with their friends.
In-house visitors
To make the experience even more exciting, we occasionally invite special guests to join us for activities and performances. These in-house visitors could range from local artists, musicians, and even animals!
We want to partner with you!
At Good Shepherd Child Development Center, we view parents as partners in their child's early learning journey. Our goal is to create a community where families feel informed, supported, and confident in the care and education their child is receiving.
